Territorial behavior amongst nesting cattle egrets has cost one its life. Nests are quite close so they do provoke each other. Shooting what I expected was an idyllic scene with pretty though fierce white birds, I discovered a life and death struggle. This scene does include two young anhingas and a snowy egret in the branches too.
