Tri-Color or Louisiana Heron Face: During mating season this petite and graceful bird takes on amazingly intense purple/blue colors on the beak. The ruby eyes are jewels in the sunlight. Louisiana Herons tend to be very skittish and quick, so to have one allow me this close is a benefit of the frequently peopled boardwalks of Wakodahatchee.
