Florida Birds
Roseate Spoonbill searching the waters of the Wakodahatchee Wetlands of Delray Beach Florida for food.
The name Wakodahatchee is derived from the Seminole Indian Language and means "created waters." Wakodahatchee consists of fifty acres of Palm Palm Beach utilities land which has been transformed into a man-made filtering marsh. This is a wonderful contribution to the area and attracts a wide variety of wild bird life, not to mention a gator or two. I highly recommend a visit as its extensive wooden walkway makes it easy to experience a natural wetland area and the beautiful birdlife it attracts.
