White Egret with hungry chicks. Feeding time in the late afternoon is a very active time. In a busy nesting colony the arrival of parents at the nest creates quite a commotion. You'll see various species with young at various stages of development. Great Blues seem to have begun the process and now they are fledged and the White Egrets, Tri-Color Herons have nestlings as well as Cattle Egrets, Anhingas, and Snowy Egrets. This picture has a Cattle Egret on its nest in the lower right corner.
