Great Blue Heron Portrait: This Great Blue looked so stern and strong I could only let it speak for itself as a portrait. I understand that in Indian lore the bird is considered a symbol of self-reliance and wisdom. For some reason the colors and structure of the plumage and the stern visage brought to mind a Seminole Indian Chief.
