The wood stork is a member of family Ciconiidae and though sometimes called a wood ibis is not an ibis. Wood storks inhabit tidal, marshes and swamps and forage in shallow waters. This portrait is of a wood stork in the wetlands of South Florida. Sometimes called the Preacher Bird, the wood stork offers a regal even thoughtful demeanor.
