Jupiter Light Fresnel Lens - a parabolic type lens invented by French physicist Augustin Fresnel. First Order lenses such as this are the largest at 12 feet tall with a diameter of 6 feet and a focal length of 36 inches.The lantern has glass fitted with astragal surrounding the First Order Fresnel lens. Astragal is what they call the metal bars dividing the lantern room glass into sections.
