Sombrero Key Light off of Marathon in the Florida Keys. The solitary beacon has steadfastly withstood many storms such as this..and far worse since it was completed and lit by a first order Fresnel lens on March 17, 1858. In 2008 this light will have stood sentinel on Sombrero Shoal for 150 years.
